Neutral wires are the preferred choice for home automation devices, so be sure to ask your licensed electrician to run neutral wires to all junction boxes. Neutral wires require a three wire connection and apply to dimmers, keypads and other smart home devices. It is also a good idea to have your electrical contractor install deep junction boxes as they can more easily accommodate wall devices, and will make more room to work with. Ask your electrical contractor as well to install cable conduits anywhere you think wires will be needed. They are used to run video cable, network cable and speaker wires. The conduits will be fed into junction boxes over which you can cover with faceplates until you need to use them. Think about building a small wiring closet to store patch and distribution panels, and media servers. The closet is where you can install lots of cable conduits which much of the wiring will end up here.
